  9. This program renumbers the message files for the FBB BBS system. Please
  10. back up your files before use. The program modifies DIRMES.SYS, INF.SYS,
  11. WFBID.SYS and all the mail files.
  12.  
  13. The program should be run from the drive on which FBB resides. The program
  14. assumes the standard FBB directory structure, system files in \FBB\SYSTEM
  15. and the mail files in \FBB\MAIL\MAIL0 - MAIL9. The program takes one
  16. arguement, a number to start the new number sequence. The program should
  17. not be run from the FBB DOS gateway. Running from the gateway will cause
  18. problems.

  20. To simplify running the program, 2 batch files are included. To run 
  21. from the BAT file, place RENUMBER.EXE in the FBB directory, or in the 
  22. \FBB\BIN directory, which should be in the PATH statement. Edit the
  23. arguement in the NK3T_REN.BAT file for the desired starting number. PKZIP
  24. needs to be available to the batch file, by having it in a subdirectory
  25. in the PATH statement. If the process is successful, you may want to
  26. remove the ZIP files created by the batch file. NK3T_REN.BAT will backup
  27. and renumber the system. NK3T_RES.BAT will restore the system from the
  28. backup zip files.
